First I want to say what a terrible tragedy. What a shameless display of evil and an example of what a reprobate mind will imagine. It is devastating for the families, the church, the community and the nation. Frankly I am heart sick and my soul feels broken over this tragedy and I pray especially for the families involved and the church community for comfort and healing. For those that passed on, because of their faith in Jesus Christ that they are with Him now; they are in Heaven, with The Father, at home and secure.

So, the headlines of the past few days, it seems to me, are SCREAMING for a nation to turn back to God!

It’s interesting to me that one of the most common questions coming out of this tragedy is, “How could this happen”?

“Why was this allowed to occur?” asks Rep Gabbard (D) from Hawaii. She’s right we, as individuals and a society, have allowed this to happen.

Some say we have a gun problem.
Some say we have a racial discrimination problem.
Some say its Fox News fault.
Some say it is a mental illness problem.
Some say it’s a terrorist problem.
Some say it’s a drug problem.

So, I’d like to address the 800 pound guerrilla in the room that no one seems to want to talk about. I’d like to call the “problem” what it really is. You see we have a problem that, as a society, we are running away from. The problem I’m referring to is, at the core, a spiritual problem; and let’s be clear this is not a uniquely American problem .

We don’t have a gun problem, or a racial problem, or a Fox News problem, or a mental illness problem, or a terrorist problem; you see we have a sin problem…. there I said it.

I realize that it’s not politically correct to say that because it leads ultimately to personal responsibility and accountability and the politicians and race batters can’t expand their control or make any money off that; and heaven forbid they should be held accountable.

A sin problem infers that as a nation we have a terminal heart condition problem; not a gun problem or a skin color problem; these are only symptoms. It’s a sin problem and there is only on antidote for a sin problem and isn’t it interesting that we continue to destroy any mention of the antidote and aggressively forbid a conversation about the antidote in our schools, government and workplace. We have successfully created this great divide between the sin problem and the antidote and we are reaping the whirlwind as a result. There is however a Way to bridge this great divide.

Why would politicians so quickly start promoting a gun control agenda in the immediate aftermath of this terrible evil? Mostly because they don’t have any answers yet this so called “enlighten” society of ours seems to hang on to their every word.

Can we just have a real conversation here? A conversation that heals a sin problem and a reprobate mind. This sin condition leading to a reprobate mind reflects the heart condition of a nation in moral decline. A nation that has lost its moral compass because we have rejected the immunization shot.

You see there are only two messages in this world, the message of love or the message of evil; Wednesday evening in Charleston we again experienced evil personified. As individuals and as a society / nation we need to spend some time reflecting on the source of both and the consequences of living one or the other life style.

“There is a way that seems right to a man but in the end it leads to death”, King Solomon.

Haven’t we seen enough death yet?

So far I have referred to a “reprobate” mind multiple times. The definition of a reprobate mind: unprincipled, roguish, wicked, shameless, immoral, degenerate, debaucher, dissipated, depraved, wrongdoer, self-absorbed. A reprobate mind leads to the inability to make rational decisions; does that describe our society. How far, fellow citizens, do we need to go in order to address this 800 pound gorilla standing in the middle of our room?

We have been on a path of moral decline for decades now and the roosters are coming home to roost, and the eggs that are being dropped are “pure evil”. Our society has willfully rebelled against our Creator under the banner of separation of church and state, separation of sacred and secular, politically correct speak so no one is offended. Well I’m here to tell you that I am offended, not because I am perfect, but because of this persistent and pervasive rebellion against my Creator, and our society’s acceptance of human reasoning over Divine Wisdom and societies imposition of its being silenced.

We are no longer a nation driven by morals, values and ethics but I’m here to let you in on a well-kept secret; there is hope, real hope that delivers real change! Ask me how I know.

This nation is currently wringing it hands trying to figure out what has just happened and what can be done about it. King Solomon once said, “The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble. My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh. Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life. Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary talk put far from you. Let your eyes look right on [with fixed purpose], and let your gaze be straight before you. Consider well the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established and ordered aright. Turn not aside to the right hand or to the left; remove your foot from evil”.

Are you tired of the evil of life that seems to be manifesting more frequent and with more intensity? Are you tired of not having any peace? You can make a difference. Jesus says of Himself, “I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life and no comes to the Father except through Me”.

He declares. “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified Me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent Me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound, To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favor]…”.

He declares, “I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, unless a man is born of water and [even] the Spirit, he cannot [ever] enter the kingdom of God….. For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him”.

My friends, would you say based on what we see around us that this nation is operating with a reprobate mind or the mind of Christ our Creator? The mind of Christ will change your life because it is Wisdom and Truth. Why are we not placing our trust in Him? When you do, your life will reflect Righteousness, Peace and Joy and only God knows how many lives you will, by your example, help others see the Light.

For Jesus says. “For every wrongdoer hates (loathes, detests) the Light, and will not come out into the Light but shrinks from it, lest his works (his deeds, his activities, his conduct) be exposed and reproved. But he who practices truth [who does what is right] comes out into the Light; so that his works may be plainly shown to be what they are—wrought with God [divinely prompted, done with God’s help, in dependence upon Him]”.

I’m not seeing much dependency on God these days but a lot of self-dependency which is SIN; and as a result we are reaping death, financial decline and unspeakable evil.

The skin problem, and the drug problem, and the discrimination problem and the mental illness problem and the terrorist problem are the consequences and result from the sin problem.

Unless we focus on addressing the sin problem our society will continue to get worse and worse; there is no end to which a reprobate mind will take us. It is a very deep and dark hole.

The answer to the sin problem and the transformation of this nation is The Light. The Antidote is Jesus. He alone can wash your sin away, and you will never be the same; forever changed!

My friend, it is your choice. You can either choose life or death which brings blessings or curses; what will it be for you? Take care of the sin problem right now in your life before you end up being taken down a deep dark evil hole that you cannot escape from. What will it be for you … Life or Death?
